THE Department of Civil Protection and Emergencies warned of snow in the Balearics and seven other autonomous regions including Galicia and Catalonia.
The weather report said that snow could be expected above 800 metres in Majorca today.
The department said that it is probable that the snowstorms which are lashing Spain will start to diminish tomorrow, but then there will probably be rain and strong winds in all of Spain. Because of this forecast, the Department of Civil Protection has recommended to the population that they keep themselves informed of the weather forecast, preventative measures and official recommendations to avoid being trapped by the snow.
