THE Palma Exhibition Centre at Son San Joan Airport is this year going to be hosting the island's first ever sustainable tourism trade fair.
Exhibition organisers Fires i Congressos announced yesterday that the four-day exhibition is going to be held from October 21 to 24.
Palma City Council and the Balearic Ministry for Energy, Industry and Commerce have pledged their backing to the event which the two organisations believe will help open the eyes of the Balearic holiday industry to the new model of tourism for the future.

ACTIVITY HOLIDAYS

The Sustainable Tourism fair is going to become a biannual event and will feature exhibitors from across Europe.
The idea is that the fair will serve to promote winter tourism as well by also acting as a vehicle to promote and market the region's fledgling activity holiday sector.
