THE nurses' union, Satse, will take part in demonstrations on April 7 and 14 protesting against the closure of the surgical and out-patient's departments in the Hospital General managed by GESMA.

Satse yesterday reiterated its “absolute rejection” of the closure.
It said it believed that both departments were served with “excellent professionals” that were obtaining “very satisfactory” results.
The union said that the Hospital General offered interventions that were not available at other hospitals.
The Secretary General of the union, Jorge Tera, said that legal representatives of the workers were still waiting for the administration to get in contact to inform them officially of the closure of the two departments.
