Pollensa military base could be opened to the public

Palma.The Ministry of Defense has apparently agreed to speed up the process of creating a special cross party commission, in which Pollensa Council will be involved, to study the viability of opening up the military base in Pollensa to public use.

In theory, the idea is to open the base, which is home to the Canadair fire fighter planes, to joint military and public use by the end of April, but it appears any such move could be delayed as the commission has yet to be formed.
