l Last month, the Balearics handled 139'013 low cost airline passengers, three percent more than during February 2012 - the sharpest increase in Spain.

And, 2.8 percent of that growth was posted by Palma airport with the British market dominating the low cost airline industry.
31.9 percent of air passengers from the UK flew in on a low cost airline compared to 20 percent from Germany.
This winter there have been more winter flights between the UK and the Balearics, hence the increase in air passengers while German airlines have reduced their services.

However, the Balearics was only Spain's sixth busiest airport over all during January and February.
