By Humphrey Carter A major investigation was launched yesterday after a fire seriously damaged two of the Coca Cola bottling plant warehouses in Coll den Rebassa on the outskirts of Palma in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The alarm was raised just after 12.30am by one of the security guards on night duty at the complex.
Due to the size of the warehouses on the site, scores of fire fighters from various brigades were deployed to the scene with back up from the water board which rushed four special water tankers to the blaze.

061 ambulance teams and paramedics also rushed to the scene to attend any possible victims and injured members of the fire service.
The swift deployment of the large number of fire fighters with specialist equipment enabled the firemen to contain the blaze to the two warehouses and extinguish the raging fire in just under one hour.
