IBIZA THE forces of law and order in Spain, including those in the Balearics, are working diligently to crack down on domestic violence, but their job is being made that much harder by victims of domestic violence returning to live with their former aggressors, Central Government Delegate Ramon Socias said yesterday on a visit to Ibiza.

Socias was making reference to the death on Sunday of a 36-year-old Ibizan, D.P.G. who jumped to his death from a third floor balcony after attacking his 40-year-old Russian girlfriend, E.VS. with a knife. Socias said that the alleged attacker already had a police record for domestic violence including a restraining order which expired a week ago. The pair then returned to live with each other.
