THE Balearic government will deliver 400 units of educational material on climate change to 210 local schools at a cost of 50'000 euros. The kits are aimed at 14 to 16 year olds.

The kits were presented yesterday by Balearic environment minister Jaume Font, and education minister Francesc Fiol.
They are divided into four themes: Climate Change, Growth and Consumption, A Global and Local Challenge and Sustainable Development.
They include a series of activities to be carried out in the schools, murals showing the effects of global warming and the Kyoto protocol and files on installations close to the schools which can be visited for further study.

There are also proposed excursions and a CD.
The information will soon be available on the environment ministry's website, Font said.
The objective of the kits is to inform of the importance of climate change, and the influence of man's activities.
