Palma.—The 13-year-old cyclist tragically died after being rushed to and admitted to Inca Hospital as a result of the serious and multiple injuries he sustained when he was run over by a car while out cycling with a group, which included his father, yesterday.

The accident happened at 12.30pm on the ride up to the Puig de Santa Magdalena near the old arsenal.
The group were apparently coming down a straight stretch of road when for reasons which are still being investigated, the 13-year-old was hit by a vehicle.

The teenager was treated by a team of 061 paramedics at the scene due to the severity of his injuries, while his father was consoled by his colleagues, and then, once stable, was rushed to Inca Hospital.

Medical sources said that on admission, the youngster was fighting for his life and shortly after his condition deteriorated and he then passed away.
The Guardia Civil Traffic Department has been put in charge of the investigation.
