SEVENTEEN new “no return” walkways are going to be installed at Palma airports to increase security in accordance with European Union guidelines.
The aim is to isolate all boarding areas and fingers to aircraft from any possible security breach.
The glass walkways will only permit one way traffic in each direction, sources for AENA; the Spanish airport authority explained yesterday.
The new walkways are going to be installed in phases at a cost of nearly 900'000 euros.
The first set is going to be fitted in the main central zone of the airport which leads to the arrival zone of terminals C, B and D.
Terminal A will be next and then terminal D and finally, all departure areas.
