MICHAEL Douglas, Claudia Schiffer, Princess Michael of Kent, the Dalai Lama and the late poet Robert Graves are just a few of the 52 Majorca-lovers from across the globe who have collaborated in a wonderful new book about why they feel so passionately about the island. Each of the 52 reasons why the collaborators love Majorca is accompanied by a breathtaking and artistic photograph of the island. The book was the idea of Majorca-based artists Ben Jakober and Yannick Vu and has been produced in co-operation with the Council of Majorca. The photographs, most of them aerial, were all taken by Pere Colom and are of near inaccessible spots on the island. Five thousand copies of the book in English have been run off for the first print run and are on sale at various tourist attractions and at the airport. The idea behind the book, explained Councillor Miguel Angel Borras at yesterday's presentation, is to share with Majorca's many visitors the feelings these influential people have, or had, for the island and why.
