Calvia.—After a stormy night which must have given the organisers of Calvia's Europe Day some worrisome moments the sun shone on cue on Sunday morning.

Stall holders arrived bright eyed and bushy tailed as early as 8.00am to set up for the mid-day start.
Everything from tasty food from all corners of the globe, to high fashion was on offer along with non-stop entertainment until 10.00pm.
Tourists and residents, many with their dogs in tow, strolled amongst the colourful stalls soaking up the cosmopolitan atmosphere and a few cooling mojitos along the way.

In a special awards ceremony Dr. Michael Stoma, founder of the charity Mediterranea, was named European Citizen of the Year and presented with a plaque by Angela Guerrero representing the Ayuntamiento de Calvia.
