Naomi Campbell to star in Palma

FOR a third occasion, Palma will be hosting a German television celebrity show at the city's bullring, this time on Saturday 13th June at 8.15pm. It is wildly rumoured that U.K. supermodel Naomi Campbell will be attending the event. More than 10 million people follow the popular “Wetten, dass ...?” progamme which has its equivalent in Spain in the form of ”Que apostamos ...” Previous occasions staged at the bullring have been enormous media triumphs. With the arrival of famous faces from the world of song and cinema, the eyes of the celebrity world following will be on charismatic German presenter, Thomas Gottscharlk. Giving substance to the event this year will be Spanish opera star Placido Domingo and reportedly Naomi Campbell. Adding glamour to the occasion will be German model and TV host Michelle Hunziker, comedian Otto Waalkes and the actor Hardy Krüger, Jr. who has also made his mark in the English-speaking film world. The bullring in Palma can seat 9'000 people and tickets for the event are forecast to be around 50 euros each. It is expected that German airline Air Berlin will be profiling the event with a possible travel package for 2'500 passengers. Musical events scheduled for the occasion include appearances by Simple Minds, as well as singer and Hollywood actress Ashley Tisdale of “High School Musical” fame. The glittering spectacle will last two hours and this year an added attraction will be appearances by all 22 participants in the 2009 Miss Germany competition.
