THE majority of national and international airline companies will be obliged to put up their tariffs over the coming months by between 10 and 15 percent, if the price of fuel continues on its upward trend. Pablo Olmeda, Airline Association president, warned that if the current economic trend persists, airline companies will have no alternative but to approve an increase in the price of tickets. They are anxious, however, to avoid a new crisis in the industry such as the one following the terrorist attacks in New York in 2001.
