Palmanova to Paguera motorway opened

THE Minister for Public Works, Mabel Cabrer, was present yesterday at the opening of the Palmanova to Paguera, which will be completely finished by the end of the year, after an investment of some 49.3 million euros. Sources from the Ministry confirmed that the main part of the road is finished, although it still needs the last surface layer, a job which will be done after the Summer season to avoid delays. Also, all the links have been opened, except the slip road at the Paguera-La Romana exit, the access to the water treatment plant, to the Son Buagadelles industrial estate, the slip road to the Costa de la Calma and the one to Santa Ponsa. During the Summer work will be carried out which will not interfere with the circulating traffic, added the sources, who mentioned especially the pavementing of the Calvia path, the installation of irrigation and the refurbishment of the gardens on the path. Also, they said, work will be started on the digging out of the Coll de Gorvio tunnel, which is 195 metres long.
