STAFF REPORTER THE streets of Sa Pobla will be ringing to the sound of Michael Jackson music after midnight this coming Saturday when the town's annual “Districte 54” festival will host a tribute to the star who died recently.

The homage to Jackson, a former child prodigy who sang with his brothers the Jackson Five and who subsequently became known as the “King of Pop”, is only a small part of the entertainment planned by Sa Pobla's town council to celebrate the local saints days of Santa Margalida and Sant Jaume.

There will be a fortnight of a wide variety of activities including some which had proved enormously popular last year such as the tortilla making contest. There will be the finals of a card game (truc) competition, outdoor cinema, and the fifteenth Sa Pobla Jazz festival which now has an international reputation.
