By PIA WALTER EX-Guardsman Richard Bowles, is appealing to the British community here in Majorca to give their support to “Marine G”, a disabled veteran who has been invited to spend a week in Majorca with his family this September.

Richard, who served as a Guardsman in the British Army for 10 years, is donating his luxury villa in Sineu to the Royal Marine, his girlfriend, and his two sisters for one week from September 6.

21 -year-old “Marine G” suffered a severe foot injury in Afghanistan last February and will require physical therapy for the rest of his life.
Richard told the Bulletin yesterday that he is looking for small donations whether it be dinner at a restaurant, the entrance to a leisure park, or any services. “This is just so he doesn't have to dig too deep into his pockets. You know how well the government pays, or rather doesn't, our soldiers?” he said.
Richard is also looking for support for next year including the donation of villas or apartments, especially those which can accommodate injured personnel. “I served in the army during peace times so I spent my time playing sport and I really enjoyed myself.
