Palma. The body, responsible for providing information and permits to all production companies interested in shooting pictures said that 50 of the 87 total requests were from advertising companies.
Brands like Captain Morgan, Microsoft, Decathlon, Audi, Visa, Toyota, Nivea, Adidas, Heineken and Pokerstars have all chosen the Majorcan capital to film their adverts.
Esperanza Crespi from the Work, Trade and Youth department explained that the city is quickly becoming as a reference point to film adverts.
The Film Office said they also received 31 requests to shoot documentaries, TV programmes, reports, features, series and short films. Overall 87 requests were presented, compared to the 71 in 2012.
Crespi also confirmed that July surpassed all expectations.
Last month the increase was of around 66% compared to the same period last year. In total 21 petitions were made (only 7 the year before).
Palma Film Office belongs to the council and was created in 2009 to promote the city as an ideal spot for audiovisual productions, hoping to develop the trade.
