Palma.—The old cinema building on the terraces at Porti Pi is due to become the new homeof Majorca's casino next month after the final finishes have been completed.

The Casino's Director, Javier Blasco said yesterday that there has been a certain amount of delay in bringing the refurbishment to an end because there were complications in making the infrastructure of a casino fit into what had been a multi-cinema complex.

The refurbishment has been undertaken by the proprietors of the Casino at a cost of 8 million euros. When complete, the premises will be able to host 800 people at a time and provide employment to around 150 people, 45 more than when the Casino was located in Calvia. There will be two gaming halls, one 700 sq.m. and the other 400 sq.m.
