Palma.—Armengol (pictured above) said yesterday that it was “rather sad” that the President of the Balearic government, José Ramón Bauzá hasn't wanted to respond to her question in Parliament about just what he intends to do to promote growth in the Balearic economy.

Because of the President's failure to give a direct response about the Partido Popular's proposed financial rescue package, Armengol said that she will be asking for his imminent appearance to give an answer directly to Parliament.

In the second full Parliamentary session since the forming of the new government earlier this year, Armengol did in fact get a response to her question about the economy but not from President Bauzá. As on the previous occasion, the response came from the Minister for the Economy, Josep Ignasi Aguiló. The Minister had said that the government will tackle the crisis by “making sure that all its spending can be paid for” alluding to the fact that the previous Socialist government had reportedly spent money it simply didn't have.

Armengol is insisting however, that President Bauzá give a detailed breakdown to Parliament of what has been achieved economically in the first 100 days of government.
