By Humphrey Carter ONE of world's most sought after actresses and models, Cameron Diaz, slipped into Majorca last week for a fashion shoot. The Charlie's Angels star who won critical acclaim for her role in Being John Malkovich, as well as Golden Globe and BAFTA Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress, caused quite a sensation on the secluded beach in Formentor when she turned up for the fashion revealing shoot. The 34-year-old was not only the focus of the fashion photographer but also the attentions of the sunbathers who had headed to one of Majorca's most popular beauty spots for some late summer sun. Normally, the agencies in charge of fashion shoots will do everything humanly possible to ensure maximum privacy for the model and the clothes being modelled. However, if you did not happen to be on the beach in Formentor last week and missed Cameron Diaz, do not worry. She will be back on the big screen for Christmas in her latest film The Holiday which is due to be released on December 8. An all-star cast of Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black join Diaz in this romantic comedy set in England and California. Diaz plays the role of an American woman with “man troubles” who crosses paths with a woman from a small English village, Kate Winslet, who is suffering from a similar dilemma. We last saw Diaz , whose father is Cuban and her mother American, on the big screen in In Her Shoes last year. She has also starred in the documentary In Search of Ted Demmethis year and next year will again be providing the voice for Princess Fiona in Shrek The Third. Diaz, who is currently dating the singer Justin Timberlake, began her career as a fashion model when just 16 when she signed with the top modelling agency Elite. Five years later she auditioned for Jim Carrey's The Mask and, to her own surprise as she had no previous acting experience, was cast as the female lead. The rest is history as she went on to become only the second actress, after Julia Roberts, to earn $20 million for a film role in 2003.
