ONE in five of people who are unemployed in the Balearics will have great difficulty finding a new job, according to a survey released yesterday.
Nationwide the survey claims that of the 1.2 million men who are without a job, more than 40 percent are believed to be “long-term unemployed” who have few chances of finding a job. In the case of women the figure is even higher, reaching almost 50 percent.

The latest unemployed figures in the Balearics released last week showed that there are now 47'000 people without a job in the islands, one of the highest figures ever.

There are fears that the jobless rate could increase even further when hotels start closing for the winter period.
