PALMA
THE story of the former British Consul in Majorca and Naval Attaché in Madrid, Alan Hillgarth appears to have stirred the imagination of our readers as we continue with our investigation into who Hillgarth really was and his activities for the British government in Spain in the run up to and during the Second World War.

Reader and Palma resident Glyn Gowans provided some interesting information yesterday revealing that Hillgarth was in fact much more than Naval Attaché but in fact the controller of all SIS (Mi6) and Special Operations Executive (SOE) activities in Spain and Portugal.
