PALMA
DOMESTIC animals are still barred from the Intermodal transport hub in Palma, resulting in a campaign by owners to push the Majorcan Railway Service to let pets travel by train at special prices.

Owners face considerable difficulties when faced with the task of getting their pets from one location to another. The ban on animals on the rail service and metro often forces them to resort to private means. The only acception is the case of guide dogs who are permitted to accompany their blind owners.

Pet owners feel that this exception is too narrow and want the authorities to widen the ruling on animals travelling by public transport. They would like to see special spaces set aside on trains and for appropriately priced tickets to be made available for animals when journeying on board with their owners or carers.
