Palma.—The seven Algerians intercepted as they tried to sail ashore in Cabrera in a small fishing boat this week will be transferred to a holding centre in Valencia.

All seven appeared in a Palma court yesterday and the judge ruled they be transferred to the mainland where they will be held for a maximum of 60 days before being repatriated to Algeria. Their boat was picked up by one of the special radar which control maritime activity in Balearic waters.

The seven, all aged between 21 and 34, were picked up by the Guardia Civil maritime unit late on Thursday evening.
