To mark the 300th anniversary of the birth of Fray Junipero Serra, the Majorcan Franciscan friar who founded California, an exhibitions opens today.
Palma.—The exhibition opens this morning in the Misericordia, opposite the General Hospital off the Ramblas, in Palma and will run until December 28.
Serra was born in Petra, where a museum has been created in the house in which he lived by the Association of Friends of Fray Junipero Serra of which the President is the former United States Consular Agent to the Balearics, Tummi Bestard and in association with the Council of Majorca, the Association has created the exhibition.
