THE Balearics has the highest number of self-employed foreigners in Spain with Rumanians, Britons and Chinese the most numerous.
According to figures released yesterday by the National Federation for the Self-Employed, four in ten self employed people in the Balearics are foreign and during the first nine months of this year, the number of foreigners setting up their own business in the region has risen by 22 percent, the sharpest increase by far.

At the end of last month, a total of 16.056 people were registered as self employed in the Balearics, nearly 18 percent of the total number of self-employed foreigners in Spain.
