Palma—Last month, the number of passengers arriving in the Balearics on low cost airlines such as Ryanair, easyJet and Air Berlin increased by 12,3% compared to the same period last year. Over 5.8 million passengers arrived in Spain last month, half of them aboard one of the three airlines. British, German and Italian tourists amounted to a 62,6% share of the total. The Scandinavian market also helped, with the number of tourists arriving from that particular region also increasing. Overall, in the first ten months of this year almost 57 million tourists have arrived in the country, with low cost airlines reporting a growth of around four percent, while scheduled airlines reported a decline of almost two percent.
