THE shipping company Iscomar had to cancel the 8.30am sailing of its ferry Nura Nova from Alcudia to Ciutadella yesterday morning, due to the rough state of the sea, according to the Balearic Ports Authority. The company Balearia also had to cancel its first sailings from Ibiza to Formentera.
The ferry Arlquin Rojo had been due to leave at 7am and the Nixe had been due to leave at 7.30am.
The crossing which should have been made by the Nixe was covered by the hydrofoil from Formentera.
As a result of the previous cancellations, sailings from La Savina to Ibiza were also cancelled.
The Ports Authority confirmed that, in spite of the bad weather, rough seas and rain, the ports of Alcudia, Palma, Mahon, Ibiza and La Savina remained open.
