Dozens of schoolchildren have also been taken on day trips to the market, and the vast display of sweets and cakes has visibly got them in the mood for a spot of cheer this Christmas.

Roughly fifteen stalls full of home-made products have all got goods which are more than worthy of being presents come the big day, with a stamp of quality that is easy to recognise. Local pastries of all varieties are on sale alongside other delicacies, while incense and natural ointments can also be discovered in various parts of the market. Indeed, almost anything that might come in handy for decorating, eating, giving and enjoying Christmas this year can be found somewhere.

One particular highlight is the different varieties of chocolate which are on sale. The bars of all colours and flavour are not exactly your average packaged piece of chocolate- even aficianados will have trouble picking the variety for them. The market continues today and tomorrow.
