Opposition parties yesterday called on the Balearic government to back down and try and resolve the dispute with teachers.
Palma.—The Balearic government and teachers’ associations and unions have been at loggerheads since 16 September, the beginning of last term when teachers went on strike in protest over the introduction of the TILtri-lingual teaching programme.
And next week, 7 January - the start of the new term again - teachers in both the private and public sector. will be going on strike again but this time over the allegedly oppressive way they are being treated and the disciplinary action which is being taken against the head of the IES secondary school in Marratxi.
