The Mayor of Marratxi, four local veterinary clinic representatives and the animal protection group Baldea have signed an agreement to start neutering stray cats in the area.
Abandoned cats are becoming an increasing problem, not only for the neighbours but for other animals as well.
They gather in public parks and squares and the population is growing fast.
The idea is to start controlling the stray cat colonies and minimise the problem.
