Palma.—The hostel, which used to be an old military base, has 12 double rooms, a living room, a reading room as well as TV facilities. A fridge and a microwave will also be installed.

There is no kitchen space, but the local port canteen is said to be of good quality.

Baby cribs and folding beds are available for visitors who bring their children along.

All the rooms have been totally refurbished, have their own toilet and hot and cold shower facilities.

Disposable sheets will be provided although visitors can bring their own if they wish to do so.

The price for each room per night has been set at 60 euros during high season and 50 euros during the low season.

During the Summer months the maximum stay will be one night, while in the Winter months two nights.

So far 70 bookings have already been confirmed for the next few weeks. Government officials said yesterday the news of the opening of the hostel is good news for Cabrera.

It means more people can now visit the area, it makes use of old infrastructures and will mean valuable extra income, that could be channeled in the future towards the improvement of local walking paths and more infrastructures in the area.
