Palma police officers started  an awarenesscampaign throughout the city  yesterday to warn citizens of the changes to the new public behaviour laws.

Palma.—Walking on the street without a shirt on or buying souvenirs from illegal street traders,  for example will soon lead to fines, but for now the authorities simply want to inform  citizens of the new changes and give Palma residents and visitors a chance to “progressively adapt” to the new laws.
Yesterday local police officers distributed 5,000 flyers with all the information needed in order to avoid the fines in the future, hoping to raise awareness and install “some common sense” in the city.
The officers will continue to do so every day of the week until the beginning of August, in Son Dameto, Pere Garau, Porta de Sant Antoni, Coll de’n Rebassa and Son Oliva.
