Palma.— Half of the tourists visiting Spain believe local residents  do not  have a clue about foreign languages.  The trade in which  the evidence is most blatant is in the service sector.
Many complain that bars and restaurants that set up their promotional billboards to try and attract more tourists into their venues fail when it comes to translating their menus.
British and German tourists seem to be the ones who have the worst opinion of the locals when it comes to language skills, according to a report revealed yesterday by translation agency, “Total Translations”.
