Business owners from Palma city centre said yesterday that the “illegal street trading” must come to an end, and demanded action from the authorities.
San Miguel’s Business Association aired its  concern about  “the growing amount  of  illegal street sellers in the area” and claim “it’s within their rights” to ask for equal treatment.
“After a small break in terms of illegal street selling the problem seems to have returned, and this time in much greater numbers.
“We must insist that the same laws that apply to us be applied to those vendors. It’s in our rights to demand that,” a spokesman for the association said.
