Belmond La Residencia Hotel in Deya has announced the exhibition of a new Miró sculpture. Last year, to launch the Miró a Deya art event, the luxury hotel exhibited the Souvenir de la Tour Eiffel, 1977 and this year the hotel will be proudly exhibiting Tête (Head), 1975.

This bronze sculpture was created in the foundry at Bonvicini, Verona and its black patina and defined incisions allow the onlooker to appreciate the artist’s direct intervention when sculpting the piece. The sculpture stands on a plinth in the hotel grounds, enabling onlookers a better appreciation of the work. Additionally, the hotel has organised the loan of more original Miró art works that grace the walls of Café Miró itself, all part of the Miró family patrimony.

Joan Miró made Majorca his home and he spent many years working in his Palma studio. The Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation is a beautiful building created alongside the artist’s former home, and his studio is just as he left it.

Belmond La Residencia offers guests the possibility of organizing a private visit to the Miró studio in Palma, accompanied by a guide, subject to prior appointment.

Entrance to view the Miró art at Belmond La Residencia is free, and visitors are encouraged to also visit the hotel’s Tafona Gallery where there are ongoing temporary art exhibitions or to stroll through the property’s Sculpture Garden – also with the possibility of a private guided tour for those wishing to understand more about the sculptures on show.
