Ten people, believed to all be German and among them some children, were rescued yesterday from a 17-metre yacht that sank off the Calvia coast between Cala Falcó and Cala Vinyes.

The local lifeguard service initially went to their assistance before being joined by marine rescue. No one was harmed as a result of the incident.

The yacht seemingly sprang a leak, leaving only the bow sticking up out of the sea. Marine rescue towed it to shallower water, where an attempt will be made to refloat it.
