Between 2010 and 2016, 1,104.7 kilos of drugs were incinerated at the Tirme plant in Son Reus. The national government's delegate to the Balearics, Maria Salom, has praised the efforts of police in working towards stopping drug trafficking. She explained that there are incinerations of drugs at least twice a year. These are the "best ways" of destroying drugs.

One carried out this week involved 557 seizures, the bulk of which were made by the National Police or Guardia Civil. Fourteen were by customs officers and 52 were at prisons.

Over the period, 506 seizures of marijuana, 350 of cocaine, 243 of MDMA (ecstasy), 247 of cannabis resin and 28 of heroin have been incinerated.
