Real Mallorca 1 - Elche 0
Following the win away in Seville, Mallorca would have fancied their chances against Elche, who had lost their last three matches and were making their way towards the drop zone. Such promise was very nearly shortlived, when Valle hit the post for Elche after just three minutes. And it was Elche who generally had the better of a first half during which Moutinho went closest for Mallorca in the nineteenth minute.

Carlos saved with his feet from Angelino, but while the goal attempts increased, the Elche goal was rarely threatened. Guillermo had a close-range effort for Elche blocked. With the game seeming destined to end nil-nil, in added time Lago Junior struck following Ansotegi's header and sent a crowd of over 12,000 delirious.
