Majadahonda, with more regular first-teamers than Mallorca, had more of the play in the first half. Shortly before the break, Jeisson was denied by Parera in the Mallorca goal. Otherwise, the first half was unremarkable.
Mallorca showed more intent in the second period. Cedric was fouled in the area and Sabater put away the penalty on 50 minutes. The Nigerian striker, so often wasteful when he was given a run in league matches, added a second six minutes later.
Salva Sevilla, Lago and López were introduced from the subs bench, but it was the visitors who scored the only other goal of the game - Jairo with ten minutes left.

So, now they are up, let's hope there is a positive plan to keep them there next season, to build for La Liga again, and not return to enduring this farcical situation again.
Such a pity that the atrocious weather put some fans off attending the match. However, as the match meant very little, not many more would have gone if the weather had been better, especially as the match was shown live on TV. Even the teams weren´t too bothered - fielding a weaker side. The match meant little - both teams already being promoted anyway - so why bother with this charade ? It must have cost much more to put this match on than was collected in revenue and there was little passion showed by either players or fans. And we have to endure the "away" leg next Sunday ! I think this fixture badly needs a re-think.
