Boat fair and cuttlefish gastronomy event. | L. BECERRA

In 2006, Puerto Alcudia held the first boat show and sepia fair.

There had been a call for some years for the port to have its own fair, and the first edition, with glorious April weather, was a spectacular success. It has since become a firmly established favourite on Mallorca’s events calendar - one of the most popular in fact, as it does attract great numbers of people from across the island.

As well as the boats and the sepia (cuttlefish) gastronomy, there will once more be the artisan market, parties on Friday and Saturday night and the procession on Saturday by Alcudia’s giants and bigheads, the Estol Rei en Jaume troupe of King James I, his Moorish opponent and characters from Mallorca’s folktales. They will be joined by the relatively new gang - Vilatans de Guinyent.
