The Rata Market is a sort of itinerant market which pitches up in various parts of the island from time to time. It is a market of art, design and artisan craft with an emphasis on local sustainability.
The stalls are devoted to products that wouldn’t tend to be found at conventional fairs, and the markets themselves aren’t in the most conventional places.
Rata Market Primavera, the spring market, is therefore by the beach in Colonia Sant Jordi. This will be the second time that the market has been held in this location, which - as it is explained - is “a unique space” with views of Cabrera.
There are 35 stalls plus children’s activities, a bar, food trucks and live music during the day. There will also be a stall for the Palma book store, Rata Corner, which is the co-organiser of the literature festival in Magalluf in the autumn.
