Richard Hawley first came to prominence around the time of 1990s Britpop with the group Longpigs.

They had some success on the indie scene but split up in 2000, which was when he teamed up with fellow Sheffield musician Jarvis Cocker as part of Pulp.

Urged by Cocker to release his own material, he did so with Late Night Final in 2001. Hard to pigeonhole, he has since brought out seven more studio albums and three live albums. He is one of the UK’s most respected indie musicians, whose influences are said to range from Roy Orbison to rockabilly to psychedelia, with much inspiration for his songs being provided by his home city.

Other collaborations over the years have included Arctic Monkey, Elbow and Paul Weller. An important figure on the UK music scene for more than two decades, his concerts in Palma celebrate the 15th anniversary of his having headlined the bill for the 2008 Waiting for Waits festival.
