Following studies in his native South Korea, pianist Sunghoon Simon Hwang moved to Germany, then Italy and France in embarking on career which, since 2006, has seen him perform with orchestras worldwide.

It has been a career that has coincided with Russian pianist Alexey Lebedev, whose talent was such that he made his orchestral debut playing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in St. Petersburg when he was 14.

In 2006, the two founded the piano duet ensemble Duo Arte Mozart. As this duo, they have regularly performed at Hannover’s Klassik in der Altstadt festival. Their repertoire includes all the works for four hands composed by Mozart.

They are now coming to Valldemossa with a programme that does include Mozart but also features, as might be expected, works by Chopin. They will be performing separately and as a duo.
