The first 'Rocky' film came out in 1976.
Its soundtrack was notable for its theme song, 'Gonna Fly Now', which went on to become part of 1970s American popular culture and is still played before kickoff at Philadelphia Eagles home matches in the NFL. Globally, the theme song from 'Rocky III' is probably the best known of all the music from the Rocky franchise.
American rock band Survivor made 'Eye of the Tiger' a worldwide hit and it was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song.

The theatre, which has a deserved reputation for its innovative programming, is the venue for 'Rocky amb Corda' (Rocky with String), a concert of music from the Rocky films and for which the orchestra will be joined by the Unió Musical Inquera, the Inca band of music.
