Antonio Mellado Escalona is better known as Zenet.

Multi-talented, his acting career has featured the role of Pablo Picasso in an award-winning TV series, 'The Young Picasso'. As a singer, he grew up in Malaga with a mix of flamenco, The Beatles, Janis Joplin and John Lee Hooker. By the age of nineteen he had already released two albums of flamenco-funk fusion.

Much later, 2008, the first album under his Zenet name came out. This mixed styles such as tango and jazz, and he - by now 41 - received the award as best new artist of the year.

Other awards were to follow, e.g. for best fusion album in 2011. His latest album, 'La Estación del Momento', released this year, incorporated electronic music for the first time and was produced along with a Cuban hip hop artist.

He is in Palma for the latest concert in the Jazz Voyeur Festival season. The support act is the quartet led by Brazilian guitarist and singer Pedro Rosa.
