Magalluf beach. | E.C.

Magalluf beach is situated at seven kilometres from Calvia, between Cala Vinyes and Punta de sa Torre Nova or sa Porrassa.

The touristic buildings, the night club and other facilities for mass tourism form this urban setting of this beach which is one of the most important touristic villages of Calvia. It is also very crowded by local visitors. This beach is very long and it is the result of an artificial regeneration, it has fine-grained white sand.

This sandy area used to be a wetland in the past, with unhealthy water, used by the criminals and smugglers to hide there the loot from the empire of the law. At half a nautical mile from the coast there is Illot de sa Porrassa. The north are of this bay is open to wind from the east or southeast.

The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are good on a sandy ground with seaweed and the depth ranges from two to five metres. Illot de sa Porrassa helps to protect it from the eastern wind, but there are some rocks located toward northwest, between Palmanova and Magalluf. The nearest port facilities are located at Club Nàutic Palmanova, at 1,6 nautical miles. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. The private car can be left for free in the streets of this touristic village. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located in the surroundings.
