Dear Sir,

WOULD someone please enlighten me and bring tranquility to our household re: Harry and the word ‘Paki'. My argument is that I didn't know diminutives were racial or even derogatory. I have always accepted being an “Eyetie”, my French cousins “Frogs”, Poles “Plummers” etc.etc. Brummies and Scousers hold their heads high and so do Essex girls. Have we become so politically correct that our present and past P.M.s should have taken exception to being a Scot or a Tony. And as for Brits abroad!! To my mind, a Scot is a diminutive and a Paki is a diminutive. My wife disagrees. Help! Yours faithfully,
