Dear Sir, I read with interest Jason Moore's comments about winter tourism and I agree that Majorca is ideal for all outdoor activities in winter. We always come to the island in winter for the excellent walking and sometimes its even pleasant enough to take the boat out, certainly better than the north sea in winter.

My parents used to go to Majorca for three and four week breaks during the British winter and always came back full of praise for both the hotels and the weather.

I think they would be shocked and saddened to see the ghost towns the resorts have become in winter.
